An ipod is not necessary but you will need a microphone and software. Most macs already have built in software. Both mac and pc users can use audacity (a free and quite easy software to run.)
Once the podcast is created, teachers can upload the podcast to a site (such as podomatic) or create their own webpage and upload the podcast to their own site (wikis and blogs will work as well). Please send the URL to where your podcast can be found after it is uploaded!
You are also welcome to use VOICE THREAD to record students' reflections. You will need to create your own account (it is free) and you will need a microphone. There are tutorials, tips & tricks, and detailed directions on how to use Voice Thread at the provided link. (Please send Jen the link to your voice thread when it is complete.)
